"Lipo 360" usually means liposuction of the whole midsection: abdomen, flanks and back, sometimes with the bra-roll area. It is often combined with a BBL. Areas and techniques vary by practice, so confirm exactly what you are getting.
Recovery timeline
Drainage, soreness, walking
- Pink, watery fluid leaking from the small port incisions is expected for the first one to three days. Protect your bed and car seat.
- Getting up is the hardest part. Walk briefly every hour or two while awake.
- Dizziness when standing can happen. Get up slowly, with help.
Bruising peaks
- Bruising can look dramatic, especially on the back and flanks, and then fades over two to three weeks.
- Lymphatic massage often starts if your surgeon approves.
More energy, more swelling questions
- Many return to desk work.
- Swelling may shift lower (pubic area, thighs) because of gravity. Usually normal.
- The switch to a firmer stage 2 garment often happens here. Faja stages
Firm and uneven patches
- Areas can feel hard or lumpy as tissue heals. Fibrosis vs seroma vs swelling
- Exercise restarts gradually once cleared.
The real result
Contour becomes clearer as swelling resolves. Numbness and tingling usually improve over months.
Compression and foams
- Wear the garment as directed, typically most of the day and night for several weeks.
- Foams and an abdominal board help even out pressure and prevent creases from the garment.
- "Too tight to strap on" is a common complaint in the first days. Tight is expected, but numbness, color change, severe pain or breathing difficulty is not. Loosen and call. Fit problems
Lymphatic massage
Many Miami surgeons recommend a series of manual lymphatic drainage sessions after lipo. Published research on it after cosmetic surgery is still limited, mostly small studies and reviews. It suggests a benefit for swelling, while evidence for preventing fibrosis is weaker. It should feel firm but not brutal, and it should be done by a Florida-licensed massage therapist. "Will it go flat?"
A week after surgery, almost nobody looks flat. Swelling, fluid and firm tissue hide the result. A few honest points:
- Liposuction removes fat. It doesn't remove loose skin or repair separated abdominal muscles. If either is your main concern, ask whether a tummy tuck fits better.
- Skin-tightening add-ons are sold with many packages. Ask what evidence the practice has for your skin type and how much the add-on changes the price.
- Compare photos at the same time of day, lighting and point in your recovery.
When to call your surgeon
- A new soft, sloshing or fluid-feeling bulge, often in the lower belly or back (possible seroma)
- Redness that spreads, warmth, pus or a bad smell at a port site; fever of 101°F or higher
- One calf swollen, warm and painful (possible blood clot)
- Shortness of breath or chest pain: call 911
