Miami recovery house prices: what's included and what costs extra

A nightly rate is only the start. Deposits, booking fees, ride limits and add-ons decide what a recovery house actually costs, and whether you get your money back if your date moves.

At a glance

Miami recovery house prices on the three provider websites we checked on October 15, 2026 ran from about $300 to $450 a night. Deposits ranged from a flat $350–$450 to 50% of the stay, and at least one was non-refundable. Included rides were limited to set trips, hours and distances. Get every term in writing.

Key facts
  • Florida has no recovery-house license. A home that provides housing, meals and personal care for more than 24 hours needs a Florida AHCA assisted living facility (ALF) license (Fla. Stat. § 429.02).
  • Published nightly rates we found (October 15, 2026): $300–$450. Most houses don't publish prices.
  • One published policy: $350 non-refundable deposit, $20 admin fee, $150 refundable security deposit, and 5 included round trips, Miami International Airport (MIA) only.
  • Under the American Society of Anesthesiologists' standard, patients who receive more than local anesthesia must be discharged with a responsible adult. A rideshare driver alone doesn't qualify.

Miami recovery house prices: how much per night?

Expect roughly $300 to $450 a night, based on the few houses that publish rates. Shared rooms cost less than private ones, and single nights cost more. This isn't a market survey, and prices change. We name only providers whose license we've confirmed on FloridaHealthFinder. The others are described without names, and our editors keep the sources on file.

What does a Miami recovery house package include?

Usually a bed, meals, a set number of rides and caregiver help. Massages, IVs, private rooms and supplies are often extra. Website C listed massages at $120 each and a $300 IV drip it called "required." Ask for an itemized list covering:

  • Room: shared or private, and whether the bathroom is shared.
  • Overnight staff: aide, CNA, LPN or RN, and whether a nurse is on site or only on call. See Miami post-op nurses.
  • Massages: how many, and whether the therapist holds a Florida license. See lymphatic massage in Miami.
  • IVs and injections: these are medical treatments, and your own surgical team should order them.
  • Supplies: garments, foams and bed pads. See the surgery packing list.
  • Holiday and extension fees, in case your surgeon wants you to stay longer.
Ask your surgeon

"Do you order IV fluids, iron or injections after surgery? If not, should I decline them at the recovery house?"

Recovery house deposits, booking fees and security deposits

These are three separate charges. Only the security deposit is designed to come back.

  • Booking deposit: holds your dates and usually counts toward the total. Ask whether it's refundable, transferable or turned into a credit. One policy converts it to a six-month, non-transferable credit.
  • Booking or admin fee: a separate charge, usually non-refundable.
  • Security deposit: taken at check-in for damage or borrowed items, and refunded at checkout.

Get answers in writing about what happens if your labs delay surgery, you leave early, or the surgeon cancels. Under the federal Fair Credit Billing Act, credit card payments can be disputed if services aren't delivered as agreed. See how to avoid surgery scams.

Can I use Uber instead of recovery house transportation?

Not on surgery day by yourself. For later follow-ups, a rideshare may work once your surgeon allows it.

  • Surgery day: patients who receive more than local anesthesia must be discharged with a responsible adult (ASA). The nurse anesthetists' association notes that a rideshare driver is responsible only for the ride. A rideshare with an adult companion may be allowed if your facility's policy permits it.
  • Later visits: plan for sitting on a BBL pillow with the seat belt worn correctly, for drains, and for a driver who won't help you in or out. See Miami surgery transportation.
  • Compare real numbers: price your actual trips in the app against the house's per-ride rate.

Included house rides are usually a fixed list: airport, one pre-op visit, surgery, one post-op visit and a pharmacy run. Common limits are MIA only, a mileage radius, and no rides on Sundays or late in the day. Check the distance to your surgery center.

Will a recovery house pick me up from an Airbnb or hotel?

Some will, but packages are built around the house's own address and the airport. Ask:

  1. Is a hotel or Airbnb pickup included, or extra?
  2. Is the mileage limit counted from the house or from my pickup address?
  3. Is a pre-surgery night at the house cheaper? One website listed $180.
  4. Is my ride to surgery included only if I check in the day before? One house requires that.

How far in advance should I book a recovery house in Miami?

There's no official rule. Many patients in surgery groups say about three months. Book once your surgery date is confirmed in writing, ideally after your labs and medical clearance are under way. Holiday weeks may cost more.

Ask your surgeon

"How many nights should I stay near you, and when can I fly home?" Book around that answer and your total trip budget.

Common questions

How much is a recovery house in Miami per night?

On the three provider websites we checked on October 15, 2026, rates ran from about $300 to $450 a night, depending on room type and length of stay. Most Miami recovery houses don't publish prices, so ask for a dated, itemized quote.

Are Miami recovery house deposits refundable?

It depends on the house. Policies we read included a non-refundable $350 deposit converted to a six-month credit, and a 50% deposit with the balance due 30 days before arrival. Get cancellation and early-departure terms in writing.

Can I take an Uber home after plastic surgery?

Not on your own. The American Society of Anesthesiologists says patients who receive more than local anesthesia must be discharged with a responsible adult. Ask your surgery center about its policy.

Can I use Uber for post-op appointments instead of recovery house transport?

Some patients do for later visits, once their surgeon allows it. Plan for sitting after a BBL, the seat belt, drains, and a driver who won't help you. Compare real fares with the house's per-ride price.

Will a Miami recovery house pick me up from an Airbnb?

Some will. Many packages cover only the airport and appointments within a set radius of the house. Ask whether hotel or Airbnb pickup is included and how the mileage is counted.

How far in advance should I book a recovery house?

There's no official guideline. Many patients say they booked about three months ahead. Book once your surgery date is confirmed, and check the deposit terms in case it moves.
